Lisa Ganora is an herbalist of 20 years' experience and a specialist in the constituents and chemistry of medicinal plants. After apprenticing with traditional herbalists in the Catskills, New England and the Southern Appalachians, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina (botany, chemistry). Lisa authors a website on phytochemistry (www.herbalchem.net) and nourishes a lifelong love for the healing herbs through hands-on fieldwork and home herbal pharmacy. She has taught pharmacognosy, herbal constituents, and toxicology at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, Tai Sophia Institute, The Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and at numerous herbal schools and conferences around the U.S. In addition, she authors visual and print curriculum materials on pharmacognosy, toxicology, botany, and chemistry. Lisa's surprisingly accessible and colorful classes and workshops integrate science, art, and spirit to help us understand the power of herbal medicines on the molecular level.
